Here's what I would like to do.
Make it easy for wiki-users to add links to pages that they have
recently visited.
Here's how it could be done, using javascript and cookies.
1. Each page has a javascript instruction to save the address of the
current page in a "history" cookie
2. When user wants to insert link, javascripts offers options looked
up in the "history" cookie (some UI button facilitates)
3. User get "enhanced privacy option" to disable this. Entries could
expire after an hour or so...
(1.) uses javascript, since server should not save / process that
information. Also this makes it possible to use static pages.
In a way, the browser's history is duplicated within the browser's cookies.
Is there a better way? Is it a "really bad thing" to do? Is there a
site that does this?
Thanks,
Stephan
